A programme launched by the Ministry of Education aims at consolidating foundational learning in students up to grade 3.
The NIPUN Lakshya Programme at Kendriya Vidyalaya Barkuhi aims to ensure that all students up to Grade III achieve foundational literacy and numeracy skills. The programme focuses on enabling children to read with understanding, write effectively, and perform basic mathematical operations with confidence.
This initiative is implemented under the National Initiative for Proficiency in Reading with Understanding and Numeracy (NIPUN Bharat Mission), in alignment with the vision of the National Education Policy 2020, which emphasizes strong foundational learning in the early years of schooling.
At the school level, activity-based learning, reading practice sessions, language enrichment activities, mathematical games, worksheets, group work, and continuous assessment are integral parts of the programme. Teachers closely monitor each child’s progress to ensure that every learner attains the required foundational competencies.
